Table Rock Mountain (elev. 3124') is a popular destination for scenic beauty, hiking, camping and other popular outdoor activities.  Table Rock State Park is located at the foot of the mountain and offers these activities plus cabin rentals, lake activities and a popular restaurant.  The mountain can be reached by car from Greenville in approximately 40 minutes.

The mountain was named by local Cherokee Indians who believed the smaller peak to the right was the stool where the Great Spirit sat when he ate at the table, which is the large rock face.
